You can explore the Main River Loop’s rich cultural landscape traveling by train, shuttle or express bus. 

EVENTS

A multitude of wine festivals and traditional village fêtes give plenty of opportunity to embrace the Franconian way of life, marked by sociability and joie de vivre

Tip for wine enthusiasts:
From our campground you can easily reach on foot pleasant wine festivals, vineyard trails and also the so-called “Escherndorfer Weinherbst” events that takes place each weekend in September and October in the Winegrower’s Hall.

STEIGERWALD

Steigerwald is just a stone’s throw from the Main River. You can combine a trip to the award-winning nature reserve with a guided tour, a discovery tour or forest bathing. Children will also find something to enjoy.

TIP: Forest playground Hundelshausen and playground “Burg Zabelstein” in Altmannsdorf

WUERZBURG

You can also combine your stay at our campground with a trip to Wuerzburg, a cathedral city where you can visit the Residence, a famous world cultural heritage, Marienberg Fortress and other historic sites.

Other places you can reach from our campground are Schweinfurt, Bamberg, Rothenburg, Bad Windsheim ,Wertheim,
Nuremberg and many other towns.

TRIPS WITH CHILDREN

There are also plenty of leisure activities and playgrounds in the vicinity where your children will have fun.  Splashing about in the small bathing bay that is part of our campground, canoeing on the Main River, boat trips, hiking or cycling – young and old will find activities to enjoy.

Bikeways and trails are marked off well and a great number are also suitable for children. We can recommend you age-appropriate activities for your kids. Don’t hesitate to ask us.
